East Midlands league table

A subdued year for Nottingham offices in terms of space leased is saved by a
monster deal

Nottingham’s not had a great year – at least not at first glance of the figures. In the year to the end of August it saw more than 329,000 sq ft of space signed for, down 12% on the same period last year, and the number of deals dropped by over 40%. But, while overall space signed for might be dropping, the size of those deals rocketed 50%. One monster deal did most of the heavy lifting, the 30,000 sq ft letting at The Curve on NG2 business park, which helped lift what was an otherwise subdued year and was single-handedly responsible for CBRE’s sixth position in the top 10. FHP joint agents on The Curve deal with CBRE retains its crown, taking the top spot for the third year running.

On the up: JLL

They might only have been responsible for a handful of deals but they made every last one count. JLL climbed four places in EGi’s office league table this year and saw the total amount of space signed for more than triple. It was involved with the third-biggest deal of the year to the end of August, the 15,700 sq ft letting at Chapel Quarter on Maid Marion Way one of five deals the national agent pushed over the finish line. If it hadn’t been for this, then NG Commercial would have clinched our “on the up” title. It completed the largest sale of the year with the exchange of 13,759 sq ft at Regent House, Clinton Avenue for £1.47m, to Bassi Holdings in May this year. This was NGs largest overall deal and contributed to their climb from fifth last year to third this year.

Going down: LSH

Volume of deals eluded LSH in EGi’s rankings this year. The national agent saw the amount of space it found tenants for slip 49%, signing nine deals compared to 13 in the same period last year. Its largest deal of the year was the 6,096 sq ft letting to Mental Health Concern at Edgeley House on Tottle Road, NG2.
