The European Commission has cleared a state aid package worth £247m to LG Electronics Wales and LG semicon Wales. They are both part of LG of South Korea. The Commission said the aid would help a deprived area in south Wales. The LG project there is thought to be the largest job-creating inward investment in the European Union.
