Analysts have downgraded their 2023 economic growth forecasts for the UK in the wake of the “mini-Budget”, with many warning of little improvement in the medium term.
The economy is expected to contract by 0.3% next year, according to Consensus Economics, based on an average of leading forecasts – a significant fall from the 0.1% expansion forecast in August.
