Eddie Stobart is poised to sign up for 9,000 sq ft at Friends Provident’s 82 King Street in Manchester. The haulage firm is taking the top two floors at the 7,454 sq m (80,000 sq ft) office block for a new group headquarters. It is thought to be paying close to the quoting rent of £22:50 per sq ft.
Eddie Stobart commercial manager Richard Butcher said; “We’ve agreed heads of terms but we haven’t signed anything yet.”Trevor Sloan of letting agents Grimley confirmed that the floors are under offer.
A third floor is also in solicitors’ hands and Jones Lang Wootton’s Manchester office is rumoured to be taking the space. Senior partner Andrew Shaw confirmed that the firm is looking to expand but denied that it is looking at King Street.
