Edge Ellison is losing property partner Mike O’Sullivan to Birmingham rival Eversheds.
The move follows Edge Ellison’s highly publicised name change and rebranding last month.
O’Sullivan joins Eversheds’ property team, which is totals 400 staff, led nationally by Cornelius Medvei. Edge Ellison’s property group is 65-strong.
Edge recently acquired London-based property practice Stones Porter, although its property finance team decicded to join DJ Freeman instead.
Both firms are keeping quiet about O’Sullivan’s reasons. Eversheds’ senior partner Adrian Bland would only say that O’Sullivan is “a great lawyer”, and James Retallack of Edge said he had left “for reasons we understand”.
O’Sullivan is thought to be restrained from commenting on the reasons for his departure by the terms of his severance agreement.
