Edinburgh airport plans to close its seldom used crosswind runway to create space for a development of homes, offices and industrial buildings.
Planning permission has not yet been given for the site, but the airport’s chief executive, Gordon Dewar, noted that it had already been agreed that the west of Edinburgh should be a focus for key developments.
