A 365-acre strategic gateway site in west Edinburgh has been put up for sale by a private client of Jones Lang LaSalle.
JLL is inviting offers on the site, which is in single ownership and is the largest to be openly marketed within this prime development area.
West Edinburgh has been identified by the Scottish government and Edinburgh council as a strategic development corridor and was the subject of the Scottish government’s first area focused national policy document – the West Edinburgh Policy Framework, published in 2008.
The site is located along the main arterial routes into the city and is bordered by Edinburgh International Airport to the north, Gogarburn to the east, and Ratho to the west.
In October 2011, the council released its Main Issues report, which identified a need for up to 2,000 homes within west Edinburgh. Consultation closed on 27 January and the MIR will now be used to inform Edinburgh’s Local Development Plan, which is expected in September this year.
