Property entrepreneurs pepper the list of the West Midlands’ richest people according to a survey by the Birmingham Post.
Robert Edmiston of the IM Group is wealthiest property owner with £240m, which puts him 5th in the overall list. He beats Brindleyplace developers Roy and Don Richardson who are 13th overall with £110m.
Sir Euan Anstruther Gough-Calthorpe, a beneficiary of the trust which owns Calthorpe Estate in Birmingham, is worth £95m, putting him in 15th position. Michael Horton and family who own Birmingham’s Horntons’ Estate are19th with £75m while the Gallagher family of JJ Gallagher are 21st with £70m.
St Modwen’s Stanley Clarke’s £57m fortune puts him in 25th place, narrowly beating the Mucklow family, owners of A&J Mucklow, who are worth £53m.
