Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management has appointed Simon Ball to head up the finance and administrative functions for its UK operations.
Ball (pictured) was previously financing director at Castleforge Partners, where he was involved in growing the real estate investment business from a small team, with £150m of assets under management, to an organisation of more than 40 professionals managing more than £900m of assets.
In addition to his role as finance director, he was responsible for setting up multiple operating businesses, employing 150 staff with a combined annual turnover of £25m. This included the operation of more than 20 residential blocks under the Ocasa brand.
Ball worked at Castleforge for just over nine years. He has also held fund controller roles at Europa and Palamon Capital Partners and is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
In his new role, Ball will join the EdR REIM’s UK management committee as managing director, head of finance and administration. He will support its major affordable housing and build-to-rent investment management and operating business.
EdR REIM co-chief executive Pierre Jacquot said: “Simon brings 18 years’ finance experience and expertise to EdR REIM.
“He will play a key role in supporting the UK team in its growing accommodation strategy.”
