Six of the countrys top property firms are joining forces with Estates Gazette to build what they believe will be the definitive internet property advertising site.
EGPropertyLink, to be launched in October, will combine on one website material from the established PropertyLink internet advertising site and all the information from building and land advertising in Estates Gazette.
There will be no charge for accessing or searching the new site. Advertising rates will start at £250 for six months. Advertisements booked in Estates Gazette will be included in the service automatically, free of charge.
Commented Estates Gazette managing director Mark Kelsey: “EGPropertyLink is set to become the biggest source of information on UK property availability. Importantly, it brings together a critical mass of information which has only been identifiable up to now by scanning a number of sites.”
The original PropertyLink was set up in March last year by Chesterton, DTZ Debenham Thorpe, Hillier Parker, Jones Lang Wootton, London and Regional Properties and Richard Ellis.
The service has grown rapidly but, according to Chesterton director Tony Graham, needed the input of a major publisher. “Estates Gazette is already well advanced in electronic publishing with EGi and, bearing in mind the full backing of its parent company Reed Elsevier, emerged quickly as our ideal partner.”
Property marketing experts responded positively to news of the launch. Mark Higgins, head of marketing at Jones Lang Wootton, said: “The internet is the most exciting medium right now, Estates Gazette is the most experienced publisher and PropertyLink is the established industry Internet advertising site. There is no better example of the complementary nature of the property business.”
Full details of the new service are on page 62 of todays Estates Gazette.
