Bidwells’ Golden Triangle Bike Ride has raised £21,000 for Maggie’s, a cancer support charity that offers free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends.
Now in its third year, the 100-mile ride from Oxford to Cambridge via Milton Keynes is a popular fixture in the property industry calendar. EG was media partner for the event.
More than 350 cyclists completed this year’s ride, which saw 875 bottles of water drunk on route and 504 celebratory beers consumed.
Patrick McMahon, Bidwells senior partner, took part in the challenge and said at the finish line: “It must be the best one yet. A beautiful route, real camaraderie along the way, and I’ve just handed over a sizeable sum of money to Maggie’s, making the tired legs and aching muscles thoroughly worthwhile, again.
“Huge thanks must also go to our sponsors – Howard Group, Coel, Redrow, Clarion and SDC – who helped ensure the maximum amount of money reached Maggie’s and that we could all have a beer afterwards!”
