Manning up for charity with marathon debut
TFT Consultants’ David Mann has raised nearly £5,000 for LandAid running his first Marathon. Mann completed the Paris Marathon on 8 April in just under four hours, 35minutes.
Mann said: “Seeing 55,000 runners mustered along the Champs-Elysées at the start was quite an emotional sight – as was the queue for the toilets.”
Mann is aiming to raise £10,000 for LandAid by 22 June.
Dedicated to cause
Saint-Gobain has raised more than £200,000 for children’s charity Barnardo’s over the past year.
HR director Richard Batley said: “We are focusing on two areas. We’re commited to developing a new training academy in London and we are funding the construction of new transitional homes for young people leaving care.”
What a Relief
Milton Park fun run has raised more than £2,000 for Sport Relief. Businesses across Milton Park joined MEPC for a 5km run or walk around the grounds. Prizes were given out to the fastest man and woman and for the best fancy dress. The money raised will help to tackle critical issues affecting people across the UK and overseas.
A helping hand
City Building donated almost £30,000 to charity last year, helping 18 organisations. Employees from the Glasgow-based construction firm and its manufacturing arm, RSBi, ran, baked and jumped their way through 2017 to raise funds for charities including Cancer Research, Macmillan Cancer Care Scotland and Scottish SPCA. Charity partners Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland and Cash For Kids received corporate donations.
