EG Podcast: Henderson property chief signals stabilisation of US market

The pricing correction in the US is expected to provide the best property buying opportunities in two decades, according to Henderson Global Investors.

The company predicts a peak-to-trough property value loss of 35% to 40% in the US, but recent buying activity is pointing toward a possible stabilisation of prices.

Henderson believes the apartment sector will offer the most favourable fundamentals and financing terms, and from a pricing perspective, the office, retail and industrial sectors will possess the most attractive buying opportunities.

Henderson’s managing director property, North America, Jay Martha visited London this week for a senior management meeting.

He speaks to Estates Gazette’s online finance editor Nathan Cross about the outlook for the US property market.
