New year, new start and time to reward the freshest regional talent – and EG is doing things a bit differently with its Regional Awards this year, handing out gongs to eight English regions, Scotland and Wales throughout the year.
For the East of England the countdown has already begun, and the contenders are jostling for the top spot. Our editorial experts will be deliberating over which of the three shortlisted companies will be named Property Company of the Year.
The University of Cambridge has made a surprise appearance for its work in north-west Cambridge. Construction has yet to start here, but the university has won plaudits from the property pundits for the enormous amount of work to get consent for the £1bn scheme.
So too for Brookgate, which at CB1 last month opened one of the first new buildings in Cambridge city centre for two decades. In letting it to Microsoft, Brookgate has landed one of the biggest technology names, not to mention the student accommodation which opened fully-let last year.
The winner of the East of England Property Adviser award – and the adviser for each region, Scotland and Wales – will be decided based on space transacted proportionate to sector.
The deadline for submitting East of England deals has now passed and our EGi number crunchers are verifying the figures. It is looking like the top spot will be fought between East Anglia heavyweights Bidwells, Savills and Barker Storey Matthews.
East of England company and adviser winners will be announced at our Cambridge Focus reception on 11 January. For details and to register your attendance go to www.estatesgazette.com/events
We will be announcing the winners for the rest of the regions, Scotland and Wales at EG events throughout the year. To be in with a chance of winning the adviser categories, submit your deals to deals@egi.co.uk
