Moda has made its first push into the London rental residential market with the acquisition of a site in Ilford.
The Ilford Island site will consist of 454 flats and 16,000 sq ft of commercial space across tower blocks ranging from seven to 31 storeys.
It will have a GDV 0f £166m.
The build-to-rent developer has previously focused on regional sites, with schemes in Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Liverpool. The first of these, Angel Gardens in Manchester, is due to come on line next year.
Speaking at the EG Residential Summit, director of development Lee Savage said the developer is starting to look for more opportunities in the South East, and bidding on sites.
Planning is expected to be submitted in Q3 2018, with completion in 2021.
Moda will not be the first build-to-rent operator to push into the area: M&G bought the former Britannia Music School site last year.
