Electronics giant eyes major Bristol prelet

ST Microelectronics is scouring north Bristol for a site to satisfy its 8,361 sq m (90,000 sq ft) prelet requirement, establishing one of the largest instructions for the area in recent years.

The digital product manufacturer is eyeing Aztec West, Bristol Business Park and Emmersons Green to house a flagship building for its regional headquarters.

Jeremy Richards, of King Sturge, which is advising the firm, said: “ST anticipates doubling the amount of its staff over the next three years. They’ll be going out to developers shortly.”

ST, which has an annual turnover of over $4bn, already has a 3,530 sq m (38,000 sq ft) building on Aztec West which houses 250 staff. It will take an extra 929 sq m (10,000 sq ft) on the park from Regus until a site for the prelet is found.
