London and Regional Properties has won planning from Southwark Council for a 400-home mixed-use scheme in Elephant & Castle, SE1.
More than 500,000 sq ft of offices will be included in the Skipton House scheme, which includes six towers of up to 40 storeys in height, making it one of the largest new mixed-use schemes outside of prime central London.
Plans for the site, designed by SOM, include a new 350-seat venue, the redevelopment of the public realm along Skipton Street, and a publicly accessible rooftop garden.
Around a fifth of the homes will be affordable, and the new employment space will create around 3,000 jobs.
London and Regional will now liaise with Southwark Council and other partners in order to agree a timeline for construction.
