Emerging markets facing falling home prices

Emerging markets are having to contend with falling house prices, with prices in major Asian and emerging market economies down 2% over the last year.

The last three months have seen falls of more than 7% in Taiwanese property prices, and falls of more than 6% in Hong Kong. Prices are also falling in Russia and Brazil.

There are also concerns that the weakness in emerging market property prices could extend to the broader economy.
