Online estate agent eMoov has filed a complaint with the competition authority against new online house-buying portal Agents Mutual.
Agents Mutual is being set up by high street agents wanting to break the domination of the online market by Rightmove and Zoopla. The new platform will prevent agents from advertising with more than one other portal – so, Rightmove or Zoopla, not both.
eMoov has complained that the Agents Mutual will exclude all online agents and that this is anti-competitive.
Agents Mutual has so far signed up 4000 of the UKs 19,000 branches.
