Empiric Student Property celebrates first London purchase

Liberty-FieldsEmpiric Student Property has expanded its student accommodation  portfolio with the £13.5m acquisition of 79-bed Liberty Fields in Camberwell, south London.

Empiric bought the block, which is fully let, from the Brandeaux Student Accommodation Funds.

The scheme also offers the potential to let studio accommodation to non-students.

Paul Hadaway, chief executive of Empiric Student Property, said: “The acquisition of the Liberty Fields property represents the company’s first investment in London.  London is a large student market with many foreign and postgraduate students. There are a substantial number of purpose-built student accommodation assets, but the supply/demand imbalance remains particularly acute.”

The scheme will be managed by Collegiate Accommodation Consulting.
