Ashley Horsey, chief executive of the Empty Homes Agency (EHA), has been appointed to head the Government’s Bed and Breakfast Unit, from September.
He is charged with reducing the numbers of homeless families housed in bed and breakfast accommodation, especially in London. Horsey joined the EHA in 1998, having previously worked with housing associations in London and Oxford.
As a member of Cherwell council in Oxfordshire, he was chair of planning from 1996-99 and vice-chair of development from 1997-99.
The Empty Homes Agency is advertising for a replacement for its outgoing chief executive.
