Enfield council is set to plough ahead with the first phase of its £1.5bn “eco-development” Meridian Water.
The local authority’s cabinet this week approved the route of the scheme’s central causeway and awarded the council the power to push on with the first 2,700 homes at the 210-acre regeneration.
Meridian Boulevard will act as a gateway to the scheme and its approval opens up land for development at the industrial site stretching from Edmonton Green town centre through to Lee Valley.
The masterplan includes up to 8,420 homes, public transport links, schools, shops and a police station.
