Enfield council has selected Countryside Properties as its preferred development partner for a 450-home scheme in Southgate, N14.
Previously known as “Coverack Close”, homes at Shepcot House, Coverack Close, Beardow Grove and Oakwood Lodge will be demolished to create a new HTA-designed development.
Some 311 homes for private sale will be created as well as 140 affordable homes.
Ahmet Oykener, Enfield council’s cabinet member for housing and estate regeneration, said: “The selection of Countryside Properties as our development partner for the New Avenue scheme is an important step towards the regeneration of the estate and the council’s commitment to ultimately deliver thousands of much needed new homes across the borough.”
Work on the site is expected to start in late 2016, with completion due in spring 2023.
