The Royal & Sun Alliance Trust Co today launched a High Court action against 24 defendants in relation to a purchase of property at Medway City Estate, Rochester, for a major enterprise zone.
The company, acting as trustee of the CONCEPT North West Kent Trust property enterprise zone trust, plus a group of 20 named individuals, seeks to recover around £1.5m from defendants including Healey & Baker and former firms Neill Clerk, based in Scotland, and London-based Cannons of St James.
The claim against Healey & Baker alleges professional negligence and breach of contract in 1992 when the firm acted as surveyor in relation to the proposed purchase.
The other defendants face various claims for damages, including allegations of professional negligence, negligent misstatement, breach of duty and breach of contract.
The hearing continues.
