National regeneration agency English Partnerships and development partner English Cities Fund (ECF) are seeking a developer for a waterfront scheme in Plymouth.
A developer is sought to deliver one of the first phases of the Millbay harbour-side regeneration scheme which covers 27 acres close to the centre of the South West city.
The 2 acre site, known as D1, has planning permission for 123 flats and townhouse and 14,000 sq ft of office space.
The developer would work alongside ECF, a limited partnership property development and investment vehicle between EP, Legal and General and AMEC LPC, who will be delivering a majority of the scheme.
A shortlist will be drawn up in autumn, will preferred developer to be selected by the end of the year.
Steve Jackson, senior regeneration manager at English Partnerships, said: “We’ve set high quality standards and see this as an important step in the transformation of Millbay.
Chris Read, project director at ECF said: “As lead developer for Milbay, ECf has been working closely with English Partnerships and Plymouth City Council to bring forward a masterplan for the area.
“The scheme sets high standards in terms of the design and regeneration aims, and we are keen to identify a developer for D1 who can match these ambitions for Millbay and Plymouth.”
Work is due to start on 136 homes on the Millbay Road D3 site soon.
