English Partnerships (EP) is seeking developers for the regeneration of 34.5-acres at the Countess of Chester Hospital site in Chester.
The site has been earmarked to provide up to 200 homes, a medical research and development park, 83,000 sq ft of offices and an area of open public space.
The successful developer will be responsible for preparing the masterplan, securing planning permission and creating a new access to the site.
EP is working with Cheshire and Wirral NHS Trust and Cheshire West PCT to regenerate the site as part of the EP Hospital Sites Programme.
The initiative aims to increase levels of affordable housing using a portfolio of 96 redundant hospital sites.
Paul Spooner, Regional Director for EP, said: “Our aim with the Countess of Chester site is to provide a well-designed community with a mix of housing to meet local needs, as well as new job opportunities to boost the economy.
“We’re particularly pleased that the planned housing will now include affordable housing – such as key worker and first time buyer accommodation – as well as family homes, all of which will achieve a high standard of design and sustainability.”
