
ESH Space has secured its first prelet at its 120,000 sq ft ESH Plaza office scheme at Persimmon’s 200-acre Newcastle Great Park, Newcastle.
North of Tyne Primary Care Trusts has prelet 36,000 sq ft on a 10-year contract paying around £18 per sq ft.
The deal is for the first phase of the four-building ESH Space scheme. Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside Primary Care Trusts will move into the offices in July.
Tim Evans of Knight Frank, letting agents for ESH Plaza, said: “The offices have been stimulating a high level of interest, as soon as building started. It has been very encouraging.”
ESH Plaza will be the first offices to be built on the site since Sage took a 350,000 sq ft headquarters building in 2005. The business park is part of a major redevelopment of the area, which includes 2,500 homes, a retail high street and a medical quarter.
Evans added: “It may seem like nothing much has been happening on the site, but a lot has. Houses were the first phase, and now a roadway has gone in, and utilities.”
Evans added that he is talking to a number of potential occupiers about the remaining space at ESH Plaza, on both a freehold and leasehold basis.
