The residents of Esher and Walton have the country’s highest income tax bills, a report by accountants UHY Hacker Young has shown.
The Surrey hotspot has residents such as footballer Frank Lampard and singer Mick Hucknall to thank for its ranking.
Bills in Esher and Walton averaged £16,900 in 2012-13, an increase from £15,700 in the year-earlier period. The amount is nearly four times the national average.
