ESRG to sell second Digbeth resi dev

ESRG Development’s has appointed Avison Young to sell the freehold for its 130-flat scheme at 250 Bradford Street in Birmingham’s Digbeth.

It follows the sale of ESRG’s part-built 170-home scheme at nearby St Anne’s Court at Lombard Street earlier this year.

The development vehicle One Developments fell into administration last year and was subsequently sold for £9m to housebuilder St Modwen in March.

250 Bradford Street received consent for a planning application of 130 homes in buildings in towers of between four and eight storeys in July 2017. The plans can be viewed at Birmingham’s planning portal.

Mark Birks, head of regional land and development at Avison Young, said: “Digbeth is incredibly popular with first-time buyers and young professionals who are looking for city-centre living in a lively neighbourhood renowned for its leisure amenities and events.

“We’re expecting high levels of interest, and would urge any interested parties to contact us as soon as possible.”

The site is located a short distance from Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre and New Street Station. Digbeth is currently undergoing a large amount of development and is set to benefit from the anticipated HS2 station at Curzon Street.

Cheshire-based ESRG Developments also has planning for a neighbouring scheme at 234-236 Bradford Street to build a further 292 units.

ESRG Developments is a subsidiary of ESRG Group led by CEO David Evans. The group was launched in 2013 and provides financial structuring for institutional investors. It says it specialises in tax, pensions, media and property.
