Essential Living is revising its plan for its Perfume Factory scheme in North Acton, W3.
The previous proposal, granted consent in February 2016, would have provided 534 new homes within blocks of which the tallest would have been 33 storeys.
The revised plans will provide more, but shorter, towers, with the overall number of units remaining the same but the height of the tallest building reduced to 25 storeys.
Essential Living says that “viability” was the main reason for the change.
Just the northern part of the scheme is currently out for consultation. This will provide 380 new homes, a mixture of both private rent and discount market rent homes. The affordable element will be tenure blind. A 130-bedroom hotel is also planned within this phase, an entirely new element from the previous plan.
The southern portion will be subject to a separate design proposal and will come forward for consultation at a later stage.
