Landlords in Essex and Hertfordshire have benefitted the most from a combination of higher house prices and rents over the last year, data from Rightmove showed.
Halstead in Essex, Borehamwood in Hertfordshire and Brentwood in Essex lead the list of property hotspots compiled by the website, each offering a return of more than 25%.
The only northern town in the investor top 10 was Cottingham, in Yorkshire.
