Estate agents go live with Internet property service

The National Association of Estate Agents this week launched PropertyLive, a new Internet service aiming to reduce the home-buying process from weeks to hours.

The service will provide estate agents and the public with a range of information: it will integrate with other government databases, allow people to make better comparisons of property across the UK and let estate agents access information on planning and legal matters.

The NAEA, which has developed the system with computer firm Intergraph, says it proposes to add on-line mortgages, insurance and other services in time, effectively turning an agent into a one-stop property shop.

Special launch packages have been developed to let agents join the system as soon as possible.
