A qualified mortgage adviser won £3,000 in a claim for discrimination after he missed out on a job because his African accent would “put off affluent” customers.
Shemi Leira, 31, said he was turned down by Barnard Marcus because his voice did not fit with the company’s “sophisticated central London market”.
