Estates Gazette’s news agenda: What to look out for this week

Monday

Durham Council is expected to decide on the proposed conversion of a former care home into a PBSA block. Unity Living is looking to deliver 48 studios across the existing three-storey building.

Tuesday

Iceni Projects is awaiting a green light from Glasgow City Council for the development of 356-bedroom PBSA block on a 1.2-acre site at 292-332 Sauchiehall Street. The scheme also features co-study suites, gym and private dining rooms alongside a foodhall and lounge on the ground floor.

The City of London planning committee has been recommended to approve the redevelopment of the 379,000 sq ft Heron House and Holborn Gate, WC1, into a 600,000 sq ft office block with cafés, shops and flexible cultural, exhibition, performance, learning, community and creative spaces on the ground floor. The proposals, designed by Make, are being brought forward by Singaporean developer Hoi Hup Realty.

Wednesday

Cambridge City Council is expected to approve the extension of Bard Pharmaceuticals’ existing building 191 at Cambridge Science Park. The pain and respiratory drug manufacturer is seeking to add 23,000 sq ft to be used as a filling and packaging hall at ground level and a specialist building services plant on the first floor.

In addition, planners will get an early sight on the drafts of clean-tech innovation scheme at Cambridge Business Park, owned by The Crown Estate, and a potential development of an office and conference centre building at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Thursday

Investor First Property Group will report its final results. Most recently, the company said it expects its profits to beat market expectations, thanks to timely disposal of properties within its funds.

North Yorkshire Council’s planning committee has been recommended to give the go-ahead for the development of 110 homes on a 9.1-acre site on Malton Road in Pickering. The plans, featuring a mix of single and two-storey, detached and semi-detached homes of one to three bedrooms, have been brought forward by JBeal Real Estate Group.
