Tuesday

Somerset Council will decide on the potential development of 424 homes in the region. The proposals were brought forward separately by three developers. BDW Trading’s plans to deliver 292-homes neighbourhood off Lyngford Lane in Taunton will be back on the planning committee’s table following a site visit. Also in Taunton, Vistry is looking to build 52 homes at Orchard Grove, while Lovell Homes is expecting an approval for 80 homes at Dene Road in Cotford St Luke.

Wiltshire Council’s planning committee has been recommended to give the green light for 95 homes in the borough. Developer Robert Hitchins has proposed to deliver 40 homes off Freestone Grove and Cheviot Road in Westbury, while Redcliffe Homes seeks to bring forward 55 homes off Melksham Road in Holt.

Wednesday

Barratt Redrow will publish its performance for Q1 2025. Earlier this year, the company reported a double-digit rise in profit and home completions.

WH Smith will also deliver its financial results following the sale of its 480-shop high street operations last month. The deal leaves the retailer with 1,200 shops in airports and train stations across 32 countries.

Thanet District Council’s planning committee is expected to decide on the development of a 165.6-acre site of predominantly agricultural land to the west of Nash Road in Broadstairs, Kent. Axis Land in partnership with The Master Fellows and Scholars of the College of St John the Evangelist in the University of Cambridge have proposed to deliver 1,461 homes, primary school, shops, cafés, a community hub and 54.4 acres of green space.

Thursday

Sainsbury’s will report its final results as it continues to grow its portfolio of supermarkets through acquisitions. Having acquired 13 shops from Homebase and Co-Op last year, the grocer is pressing ahead to add another 20 stores to its operating network over the next year.

Durham County Council planners have recommended the approval of the next phase of the Kynren attraction park, comprising a 3,200-seat arena. The 50,181 sq ft development would be brought forward by landowner 11Arches to allow the staging of a show, utilising trained birds.
