Estates Gazette’s news agenda: What to look out for this week

Wednesday

Stanhope will brief Cambridge City Council on its rejuvenation plans for Kett House on Station Road. The developer is looking to submit its proposals for the site in September this year.

Southwark Council will decide on the delivery of new homes in the borough. Tide Construction has proposed to transform brownfield land at 79-161 Ilderton Road, SE 16, into 865 co-living and 186 affordable homes. In addition, the developer seeks to bring forward 5,285 sq ft of commercial spaces at the ground floor level alongside cycle parking, children’s playspace and public realm improvements.

The council has also been recommended to give the go-ahead for the makeover of Rich Industrial Estate, SE1. London Square has proposed to demolish existing buildings on the site to pave the way for a mixed-use 14-storey building providing up to 183 flats, flexible retail and office space.

Thursday

FTSE 250-listed BTR provider Grainger will report its half-year results. The company is expected to report double-digit net rental income growth over the six-month period to the end of March.

Salford City Council is expected to approve the proposed regeneration of the former Colgate-Palmolive factory in Greater Manchester. Development manager Bankfoot Apam has teamed up with Catella Apam, which is acting on behalf of site owner Greater Manchester Pension Fund, to deliver 450 homes and more than 145,000 sq ft of office space. 

The council will also have ECF’s proposals for a 22-storey building comprising 189 flats on the table. The tower forms a part of the wider £1bn Salford Central masterplan

Cherwell District Council is is likely to approve the delivery of two mid-box warehouses at Tritax Symmetry Bicester. The developer is looking to deliver a combined 270,000 sq ft of industrial space. 

The council is also expected to decide on William Davis Homes’ proposals for the development of 130 homes on a 19.3-acre site to the south of Bloxham. Planning officers have recommended the application be given the go-ahead.

Friday

Landsec will deliver its annual financial report. Most recently, the investor said its trading performance remained positive and it expects to deliver a 4% like-for-like net rental income growth for its trading year which ended on 31 March.

Newcastle City Council is expected to decide on the future of the former Castle Leazes student halls site. Unite Students in partnership with the Newcastle University has proposed to bring forward two buildings up to nine storeys in height, which collectively would provide 2,009 bedrooms
