Plans for a London airport built on a 3,500-acre artificial island on the Thames estuary northeast of the Isle of Sheppey have been revived.
The project, first conceived and then abandoned in the 1970s, has been submitted to the Government and is expected to make a shortlist of 16 potential locations for a London airport.
