Eurofund Group has recruited former Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield head of leasing for UK assets Alex Coffey as its new commercial director.
Coffey (pictured) joins his former URW colleagues Alberto Esguevillas, now chief executive of Eurofund UK, and Emma Hindes, now chief operating officer for UK retail.
Coffey has worked at URW and its legacy Westfield arm for 17 years, joining as a project leasing executive in 2005.
His work at the shopping centre owner included overseeing the tenant mix concept and strategy for Westfield Stratford City as the centre’s senior leasing manager, ahead of his promotion to head of leasing for the UK in 2019.
Before that, he was a senior surveyor at Cushman & Wakefield.
Eurofund said Coffey specialises in driving change in lease and tenancy strategies across retail and introducing “innovative ways of project leading”.
Ian Sandford, president of the Eurofund Group, said Coffey is a “fantastic addition” to its “senior and growing” team, and that Coffey is “as passionate about the future of retail as we are”.
Esguevillas said: “Alex is a highly respected executive and former colleague of mine at Westfield. He brings with him charismatic leadership, boundless energy, a wealth of industry experience, a catalogue of personal successes and first-to-market achievements.”
