The European Union has allocated £22.56m (29.3m ECU) from its URBAN structural fund programme for the regeneration of inner city areas in London, Birmingham and Swansea
The funding is been divided between:
- London: Hackney and Tower Hamlets which will receive £6.47m (8.04m ECU) and Park Royal £5.93m (7.7m ECU);
- Birmingham: Sparkbrook which will receive £6.47m (8.04m ECU);
- Swansea: Townhill which will receive £4.32m (5.61m ECU).
