Eurotunnel told LCR to promote volume over price

Eurotunnel told London & Continental Railways (LCR) last year thatits marketing strategy was wrong. The operator of the Channel Tunnelsaid LCR should aim for the highest numbers of passengers at lowprices.

LCR insisted on holding prices at a higher level and accepting fewerpossible passengers.

Eurotunnel is concerned about suggestions that the rail link intoLondon should only be built as far as Ebbsfleet. This would not solvethe need for additional volume into central London, which the companysees as a key issue in the economics of the line.
