Euston arch could return

The Euston arch, demolished in the 1960s, could return as part of an upgrade of Euston station, transport minister John Hayes has indicated.

The completion of the upgrade is due to coincide with the launch of high-speed rail services at the station in 2026.

The return of the arch would start a revolt against the cult of ugliness within the public transport system, Hayes said.
