Evans sets up industrial park on 60 acre ex RAF site in Lincolnshire

Evans of Leeds is planning a 27,870 sq m (300,000 sq ft) industrial park – one of the largest in the country – on a 24.28 ha (60 acre) former RAF site in Lincolnshire.

It bought the site, which is part of the old bomber base at RAF Swinderby, last month from Strawson Holdings and is looking to let some 23,225 sq m (250,000 sq ft) of the standing accommodation.

Strawson is looking to sell some 40.47 ha (100 acres) of the remaining airbase for residential development.

According to David Willmer of Grimley, joint-letting agent on the industrial park, once the level of demand for industrial accommodation has been ascertained Evans will consider redeveloping the rest of the site.

Grimley and Brown & Co are quoting from £18.83 per sq m (£1.75 per sq ft) on the industrial space, which includes three hangers, used as warehousing, of 5,574 sq m (60,000 sq ft) each.
