Event space provider etc.venues has signed to operate an additional 20,000 sq ft at 155 Bishopsgate, EC2, a move that doubles the company’s space in the British Land and GIC building.
The company, which operates in the UK and New York City, will now operate 40,000 sq ft of event space on the first and second floors of the Broadgate building.
It will offer conference space on the second floor with escalator access from the existing event space on the first floor, making it one of the largest venues of its type in the City of London.
Following success with its existing floorplate, the operator will be adding a main room on the new floor to accommodate up to 475 people theatre style. The space will also have a galleria and lounge that can accommodate up to 51 exhibition stands.
etc.venues is investing £4.3m in the building, which recently underwent a full refurbishment including a new double level reception, lounge and upgraded workspace.
The company reported “consistently strong demand” for space in the last 12 months. This is following the return to in-person events and demand for space for company collaboration and meetings due to new hybrid working patterns.
