Law firm Eversheds has chosen the location of its new 130,000 sq ft (12,077 sq m) Leeds head office.
It is poised to sign the biggest office deal in the city so far this year at St James Securities/Landmark’s proposed Bridgewater Place scheme.
It marks the end of Eversheds’ long search for a new HQ, during which time the firm considered awg’s City Square House.
St James Securities/Landmark were said to have offered Eversheds “a generous incentive” to locate to the scheme, equivalent to three years rent free.
Eversheds has been searching for a new Leeds base for over a year.
The agreed rent is £22 per sq ft (£237 per sq m), a little below the Leeds record of £23 per sq ft (£247.58 per sq m) set last year by the Baker Tilley letting at Whitehall Riverside.
