Supermarket giant Tesco has secured consent for two major regional stores.
In Shirebrook, Derbyshire, it has got the go-ahead for a 45,000 sq ft store, and outline consent for a further 30,000 sq ft of shops and commercial space.
Tesco secured approval for a 28,000 sq ft store in March 2010, but later submitted plans for a larger-format store and additional shops.
The chain has also got the go-ahead for an 80,000 sq ft store in Southend-on-Sea.
Work on both schemes will begin next year.
DPP advised on planning.
