Evotec takes more space at Cheshire’s Alderley Park

Hamburg-based drug discovery firm Evotec is set to further grow its footprint at Bruntwood SciTech’s Alderley Park in Cheshire.

The firm is looking to boost its development and manufacturing capabilities by taking three out of five storeys, totalling around 32,000 sq ft, at Block 22. Rents at the park are currently quoted in in the high £20s per sq ft.

Block 22 is adjacent to Blocks 19D and 23, forming a wider development and measuring around 60,000 sq ft. The blocks were built in 2008 as a specialist animal facility but were recently converted to provide medium to large-sized laboratories and write-up spaces. In addition, solar panels were installed on the main roof.

Evotec is among the largest tenants at Alderley Park, having moved its subsidiary Cyprotex’s UK operations to the campus from Macclesfield back in 2017, in the process making it the headquarters of one of its key chemistry businesses. The existing facility covers some 25,000 sq ft of office and laboratory space.

Alderley Park is home to more than 250 companies, with other major occupiers including the Medicines Discovery Catapult, Sygnature Discovery, Charles River Laboratories, Kinomica, Sutura Therapeutics and Redx Pharma.
