Ex-MEPC board member named MCC chairman

Gerald-Corbett-THUMBGerald Corbett, a former non-executive director of MEPC, has been named as the next chairman of the Marylebone Cricket Club.

Subject to approval by MCC members at the annual general meeting on 6 May, Corbett will succeed Oliver Stocken on 1 October 2015.

At the helm, he will be expected to help steer the club’s plans for a £200m redevelopment of Lord’s cricket ground, NW8.

Corbett has served on the board of 12 different public companies, six of them as chairman.

MCC president David Morgan said: “Corbett’s track record of leading large and diverse organisations is impressive, and he will bring with him direct experience in the finance, property, consumer goods and charitable sectors, which will be of great benefit to everyone at the club.”
