The Bank of England is putting a 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) office block on Southgate Street in Gloucester on the market as part of a downsizing operation.
Bruton Knowles has been appointed to either sell or let the building, which is occupied by the registrar’s department, where all the bank’s financial transactions are recorded.
The agents would not quote a price for the five year old block, although the asking rent is in the region of £107 per sq m (£10 per sq ft).
As part of the reorganisation, Bruton Knowles has been instructed to search for around 1,858 sq m (20,000 sq ft) for a new headquarters, also in Gloucester.
