Exclusive Eversheds tipped to take 90,000 sq ft prelet at Cardiff Bay

Eversheds is tipped to take a pre-let on up to 8,361 sq m (90,000 sq ft) at Cardiff Bay for a new headquarters.

Grosvenor Waterside is understood to be talking to the law firm about consolidating its operations in Cardiff on a site close to the Scott Harbour development. Any deal could involve the legal firm taking short-term accommodation in Scott Harbour where some 6,503 sq m (70,000 sq ft) is currently available.

Andrew Brooks, senior development manager at Grosvenor Waterside, said it was talking to potential occupiers but would not confirm Eversheds was one. He said: “We are very encouraged by the success of our developments at Capital Waterside and are currently talking to a number of interested parties.”

Jane Maunders, marketing manager of Eversheds in Cardiff, confirmed that the company was talking to developers about consolidating its operations in the city but added: “We are keeping our options open.”

Earlier in the year, Eversheds announced that it was reviewing its property needs in Cardiff and initiated a search for up to 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) in the area. The solicitor also has a requirement for around 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft) of office space in the City of London.

DTZ Debenham Thorpe and Cooke & Arkwright are acting for Grosvenor Waterside at Cardiff Bay. Eversheds is representing itself in Wales.
