Sun Life Group could redevelop 16,722 sq m (180,000 sq ft) of offices in Bristol city centre following the company’s move to a new headquarters.
Managing director of property Steve Smith confirmed that the insurance company may decide to rebuild its former premises, Sun Life Court and Marlborough House. The offices are on Bristol’s inner ring road close to the M32.
Smith added: “There are a range of options open to us. We are considering redevelopment but we might also sell.”
A client of Japanese investment bank Daiwa has emerged as the purchaser of Sun Life’s new headquarters at Bristol Parkway, in a sale and leaseback deal. The buyer paid a rumoured £75m for the 37,160 sq m (400,000 sq ft) building. .
